’WILD’ nature-based art installation at a community exhibition
by Early Childhood Education student, artist and art educator for children, Katrina; with mentors Fiona and Kathy.
I joined The (re)Generation Project after an educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art showed me the project. After reading about it, I immediately became curious and wanted to be apart of the movement.
Being inspired by nature, art and the people around me, my project grew organically. The specific issue I am addressing is the connection between nature, art and people. I want to understand how these sub-connectors work hand in hand to motivate and regenerate each other. I would like people to participate and engage in the cycle of creation to explore the interconnectedness of nature on art and art on nature.
Together I want to explore how this can regenerate a passion within us to care for the things that inspire us. Through a participative exhibited installation, I hope that those that partake as a result of Biophilia and a connectedness to their creative seed.
The expected overall impact of this project is to give people the experience of engaging in art with the subject matter of nature to hopefully regenerate their passion to care for it.
